A Complete Service
Due to our experience in the trade and
because we can provide an individual service, we can take your project
from concept stage right through to the final print.
You'll find that we're more flexible than many other printers and
can quote for many 'unusual' jobs other companies wouldn't entertain.
Unfortunately though, as one of our local advertisements states,
there's one kind of job we can't help you with... 'Short-run banknotes'
are out of the question!!!
We print quite a lot of books - these can be either bound as a paper
back, hard case or wire stitch (a display of some of the books we
have printed is shown via the link below. Many of these were produced
for Norfolk publisher, The Larks Press, 01328 829207)

An Established Printer
Since the late 19th century, Fakenham has been the
traditional printing centre of East Anglia.
The Lanceni Press has also been around in one form or
another for a long time. It is an amalgamation of two printing companies
- The Lancaster Press formerly on Holt Road, Fakenham and The Iceni
Press.
The Lancaster Press
was originally formed in about 1904. In more recent times (around
1974) , it was taken over by Terry Key and Peter Worship, who also
owned and ran Blakeney Engineering Ltd. in Blakeney, Norfolk.
The Directors of The Lancaster Press were Terry Key,
Peter Worship and Mrs Pat Cooke.
The Iceni Press,
formed in 1982 as a partnership between Keith Barrow and George
Broughton, traded from our present premises on the Fakenham Industrial
Estate. Keith and George were former Fakenham Press employees and
they started The Iceni Press as a result of the closure of that
company.
On 1st March 1995 the two companies joined forces
as The Lanceni Press, with three
directors - Keith Barrow, George Broughton and Mrs Pat Cooke. Keith
Barrow retired in 2000 leaving George Broughton and Pat Cooke as
joint shareholders. George retired in September
2003 leaving Pat in solitary splendour!
Supporting Local Business
As members of the Fakenham & District
Chamber of Trade, we regularly meet and work with many local businesses.
Through links with these and local government, The Lanceni Press
has printed a wide range of guides and publications which promote
our region and its companies.
Our sister company, Fakenham Publishing, also supports local interests
by producing our area's premier free newspaper, The Fakenham Sun,
which is delivered to over 10,000 homes and businesses in the area.

What We Do
Simply put, we can
design nearly any kind of printed items for you! If you dont
have a computer we can work from a mock up supplied by you, from
pre-printed hard copy, or from files on disk - we have facilities
to lift copy from most computer programmes. We are happy for you
to call in and show us what you can produce and then discuss your
requirements with you.

When the final layout is complete, a 'proof' will be prepared on
one of our office printers and we will inform you when this is ready
(we can email, fax or post proofs to you). On receiving your approval,
we can proceed with the job.
The next stage is to produce film and plates. All
these operations can be performed in house, so our turn around times
are fast.
The largest size paper we normally print on is SRA2
(which is roughly the size of 4 A4 sheets with a bit to spare).
We
have a Komori Sprint two colour machine, a Kord 64 single colour
machine and two Ryobi single colour machines, a Thermographic machine
and various folders.
We are able to print anything from personal stationery,
letterheads, correspondence cards, invitations and Service Sheets
through to business stationery, company letterheads, compliment
slips and business cards, NCR invoices and orders - either in single,
pad or book format, leaflets, brochures, catalogues and books. We
can also offer Thermo printing (raised print).
Please do not hesistate to call and see us if you
need assistance in planning a job, we are always pleased to discuss
your requirements and possibly give you a few ideas to achieve your
aim.
If you need a rough idea of the costs involved
in the production of your project before arranging a meeting, please
phone. You can also request a quote online by filling in our website
forms, which cover books & brochures, leaflets and both business
and personal stationery.
